Helium.com, Andover, MA, is seeking experienced contractors to help build their next generation distributed application framework using Ruby. Candidates must have experience with Ruby web frameworks (e.g. Ruby on Rails, Merb, Mack, Ramaze, etc).
In addition to core Ruby technologies such as Rinda, RubyGems, and Rake, it is desired that candidates have hands on experience with technologies such as JSON, AJAX, jQuery, Prototype, Dojo, DataMapper etc...
Candidates should be able to architect and write efficient code for extremely high traffic applications in heterogeneous web hosting environments. Excellent knowledge of Internet/Web technologies such as browsers, firewalls, proxies/caches, HTTP, messaging, SOA, OS virtualization, etc... are also extremely desirable.
Experience with test driven development practices using testing suites such as Rspec is essential. Candidates should also have a proven ability to work with other team members using systems like GIT or SVN.
Candidates will preferably be ‘onsite’, although for the right candidate ‘off-site’ will be considered.
