Requirements:
- At least 3 years experience writing large scale production applications for system administration and/or Cisco network groups.
- Experience with OpenSource SNMP based monitoring programs (e.g. Nagios / OpenNMS) in production environments
- Work with other departments on architectural issues regarding requirements and turning that into business solutions.
- Expert competency with Red Hat Linux required with at least 3 years working in a production environment, including Bash (or related UNIX shell) scripting.
- Expert ability to install, configure, upgrade, modify, and maintain various Open Source technologies
- Ruby, Python, java or similar programming language
- Experience architecting, defining, writing, testing, and implementing applications into production environments.
- Assist in system administrator tasks from time to time as need requires.
- Database administration knowledge desired
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
- Ability to multi-task in a dynamic fast paced environment, with minimal supervision
Education, Certification, Training and/or Minimum Qualifications:
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience in related technical field
- Team player attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
- Carry a beeper to provide 24x7 coverage approximately 1 week per month
- Must be able to work independently and be a self-starter.
